Graduate school status

Dear Mr. Honerkamp:

Thank you for applying to the MA program in the Department of Political Science at Georgia State University. We have received all materials necessary to complete your file and have forwarded your application to the department for review.

Please note, the length of time your application may remain in the department for review varies greatly from one department to another. Furthermore, once a decision has been made regarding your application, the file must be sent to the Dean's Office for approval. Thus it can be a period of up to several weeks from the time an application is considered complete to the occasion when it is returned to our office with a final decision. As soon as we receive this decision, we will notify you by mail.

If you would like to check the status of your application online, please go to https://www.gosolar.gsu.edu/bprod/admstat.GetSSN. This link will take you to the "GoSOLAR - Georgia State Online Access to Records" page where you will be asked to enter your name, date of birth, and complete Panther number. When prompted to enter your complete Panther number, use the following number assigned to you by Georgia State University: xxxxxxxx. Once you login, your status will either be listed as "ready for review," indicating that your file has not yet returned from the department with a decision, or "decision made," indicating that your file has returned from the department with a decision and a letter will be mailed to you shortly. If your status is listed as "decision made," you will also be able to view that decision from your GoSOLAR records page.

Should you have any other questions, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Fingers crossed- I took the GRE at the last minute and with almost no preparation. I didn't do as well on the analytical section as I wanted to, but I think I'm OK.

If I get admitted for the Spring semester, I'll apply for admission into the dual masters program with the business school and will hopefully start that in the Fall. The dual masters program is 48 hours, which is really an excellent deal (a single masters at GSU is 33 hours), and if I go full time and get the prerequisites I need when I need them, I should be finished in a couple of years.
